This training course is based on the compliance requirements placed on Trainer Courses Ltd by the Health & Safety at Work (Etc.) Act 1974; Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended 2002); The Guide to the Handling of People – 2011 (6th Edition) Often referred to as the ‘Nurses Bible’; the Royal College of Nursing’s code of practice for ‘A Safer Patient Handling Policy’ covering legislation, risk assessment, ergonomics and competence; and requirements placed on healthcare employers by industry standards. These requirements have been used as reference points for this training course.
Apart from ensuring compliance with the
above, the trainer pack is useful in assisting Health & Social Care Diploma
candidates with various elements of their learning.
